A team leader/supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.
Individuals who are at the start of their career in leadership and management and who wish to take their first steps into professional management.
It is also appropriate for those already in management roles who may already have experience, but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills.
The Team Leader/Supervisor (Level 3 Standard) course will help students effectively perform their responsibilities such as supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and more.
Topics include:
- Understand different forms of communication and their application
- Understand organisational governance and compliance, and how to deliver Value for Money
This will be a mixture of development in the workplace and knowledge workshops at our premises in Liverpool & St Helens and via virtual learning platform
Students could progress onto a higher level Apprenticeship or could train in specific areas of their role such as Customer Service or Project Management.
