A Leader in Adult Care is responsible for managing community or residential based services.
This role has a large element of leadership, whether with other care workers and networks or in leading the service itself. They have a responsibility to ensure the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well-led. They may be a Registered Manager of a service, unit, Deputy or Assistant Manager.
What will they study?
Students will cover a range of advanced subject areas to help them adhere to the relevant policies and ensure that they have all the knowledge they need to deliver exceptional care.
Topics include:
- Statutory frameworks, standards, guidance and Codes of Practice which underpin practice in relation to the safe delivery of services
- Systems and processes needed to ensure compliance with regulations
- Organisational policies and procedures including health and safety and risk management and principles of risk management, assessment and outcome based practice.
Where will it take place?
This will be a mixture of development in the workplace, independent learning, remote visits
and knowledge training sessions at our premises in Liverpool & St Helens and via virtual learning platforms.

Students can progress onto further learning to enhance their knowledge and skills.
