The
SkillWorks is a programme funded by the Greater
Merseyside Learning and Skills Council and European
funding which pledges to meet 60 per cent of the
cost of training for small and medium sized companies
in Greater Merseyside. This is usually classed as those
employing less than 250 people.
St
Helens Chamber can offer support for almost any training
which your company and your staff need, from one-day
training courses through to much longer qualification-based
programmes. We can come in and help you to identify
your training needs, and we can then deliver or source
the training required.
Want
to know more? Here are just a few of the questions you
might be asking:
Who
provides the training?
That
depends on what training your business needs. St Helens
Chamber has been appointed as an approved organisation
and will be responsible for meeting your requirements.
We can either provide the training ourselves or we will
sub-contract to specialist trainers.
Is
delivery flexible?
The
SkillWorks is not about courses that are at pre-determined
locations and times. St Helens Chamber will work with
you to come up with a training programme that reasonably
fits in with the
realities of business life but can be achieved within
a sensible budget.
What
if I need several different people trained?
It
makes no difference if you need one employee or your
entire workforce trained. St Helens Chamber will be
responsible for meeting all your needs.
Are
qualifications involved?
While training doesn’t necessarily lead
to a qualification, we do believe that working towards
achieving national or industry standards via formal
qualifications can often play a useful part in
improving workforce skills. Our staff will be able to
advise you on a range of options and additional support
available.
What do I have to pay?
Just
40% of the cost of the programme that you agree on with
us.
