Representation
is one of the core activities of the Chamber carried
out on behalf of our Members. St Helens Chamber is the
voice of local business', providing Members with a strong
voice at local, national and international levels. We
work closely with our partners to ensure that business
is involved in local decision making processes and we
are an active player within the British Chambers of
Commerce network.
We have a strong lobbying influence on government decisions
affecting businesses. Our representation activity also
includes a broad programme of discussion groups with
our Members on local and topical business issues.
The Chamber has been involved in many national and local
issues including the following:
|
|
Regulation |
|
|
Business
Crime |
|
|
Working
with the Local Authority |
|
|
Unauthorised
Traveller Encampments |
Through our surveys and economic research, Members have
the chance to present their case on issues that affect
their business, such as legislation, interest rates
or business crime. Every quarter, the Chamber canvasses
Members to ask their views on subjects which are fundamental
to the business environment. The results form the basis
of the Merseyside Quarterly Economic Survey, often quoted
in the media and our own publications
as the most reliable benchmark of the health of Merseyside
economy.
