Business Grants
We can award a start up grant, ranging from £200 to £5,000 to your business providing:
- Your business is located and operated within the Borough of St Helens
- You produce a full business plan, both narrative and financial forecasts including cash flow; profit and loss and balance sheet (we can help you put all this together)
- You have evidence of expenditure that is needed for the start up. This would include receipted invoices for items such as computers, office furniture and fixtures and vehicles.
For grants of over £3,000, you will be asked to present your business plan to an independent awarding panel. The panels are made up of bank managers, solicitors, accountants and established business owners, all from St Helens.
Once the level of grant has been decided, we will pay 50% at start up when a contract is issued, with the balance paid three months later.
For some businesses, further development fund grants can be provided, depending on the needs of the business. This could apply to businesses planning expansion, for example.
