Starting Point
Starting Point is our information, advice, guidance and assessment centre supporting the people of St Helens who are looking for employment and/or learning.
We have two bases - one in Hardshaw Street in St Helens town centre and one in Fleet Lane, Parr. We can meet with you at either of the bases or, if it is more convenient for you, in a community venue near to where you live.
We offer expert career guidance, enabling you to make informed choices. We can also point you in the direction of various training and learning options and job search services.
To help you get the job you want, we provide a full range of support including:
- Help with writing your curriculum vitae (CV)
- Developing good interview techniques
- Confidence-building
- Writing letters and application forms
- Job clubs, internet access and Jobpoint access
Funding may be available to help you pay for training and travel costs.
Support is given in either one-to-one interviews or workshops.
