Going from strength to strength

A St Helens Structural Engineering and Construction Consultancy
company set up 37 years ago has doubled in size in the past year
after securing some lucrative contracts from various blue-chip
companies.

AC Robinson & Associates provides construction consultancy, civil and structural engineering design and facilities management services to various local and international companies.

Recently the company was appointed to head up the design and project management of the new £25 million distribution warehouse for AAH Pharmaceuticals in Stoke. This contract was awarded on the back of AC Robinson’s appointment as facilities management responsible for the AAH Pharmaceuticals building portfolio across the UK covering 19 major sites.

Owner Simon Robinson explains: “Our role ultimately is to ensure our clients maximise their profits by maximising their buildings. As a company that understands buildings from design concept to completion, we know how to ensure clients operations are as efficient as possible.

“Part of this includes looking at other building issues such as energy management and alternative power requirements on sites. We have been very successful at implementing new energy solutions saving clients, in many cases, hundreds of thousands of pounds.”

AC Robinson & Associates was set up by Clive Robinson in Church Lane, Eccleston in 1969. One of the first clients, which is still retained today, was Pilikington Glass. Clive’s son Simon Robinson acquired the practice in 2000 and the practice relocated
to the Alexandra Park site.

The company initially focused on civil and structural design of industrial and commercial buildings, but has since evolved into managing entire construction projects from design to completion.
AC Robinson and Associates also specialise in facilities management. The company already has an established design pedigree and other clients include Pilkington Glass, Kuehne & Nagel, Granada & Spirit Group to name but a few.

The Practice has recently made two key managerial appointments to further strengthen the team. Iain Ferguson joined the practice as an associate, joining fellow associates Gerald Renshaw and Les
Critchley and more recently Iain Paterson joined as facilities manager.

Simon Robinson is an active member of the business community and a former director of the Chamber, with whom they have enjoyed close links with for many years.
